Character.AI is published by Character Technologies, Inc. in the United States. PolyBuzz is operated on the web by Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited in Hong Kong, and its iPhone app is sold by Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC.
Both are free with ads. PolyBuzz Basic costs $9.90 a month or $99 a year on its website; in the iOS app, plans go up to Ultimate at $29.90 a month, with “Long Memory” and “Permanent Memory” models on paid tiers. Character.AI sells (c.ai) lite at $4.99 a month and c.ai+ at $9.99 a month.
PolyBuzz is restricted to adults but its terms ban content depicting pornography or sexual acts. Character.AI filters sexual content for everyone and has restricted open-ended chat to adults since late 2025.
